About Me

I'm a composer, software engineer, game developer, and much more. While I wear a lot of hats, there's a method to this madness, I promise!

My first instrument was a cheapo Casio keyboard, which I still own. From the moment I discovered music, I was obsessed.

Through college, I mostly moved in the classical music world. After spending my adolescence in youth symphonies and piano competitions, I got my B.A. in Music Composition from Columbia University, where I studied under George Lewis, Georg Haas, and Zosha Di Castri. I also won the department's Charles S. Miller award for composition.

After graduation, my path got more labyrinthine. After professional detours through piano tuning and tech journalism, I currently work as a software engineer at Malin Space Science Systems, where I test and debug cameras bound for space exploration missions - including one that will fly on NASA's next manned lunar mission, Artemis II.

And I've finally started to make inroads on an industry I've dreamed of working in since I was a kid, video game development. I write music for Dark Nyx Studio and study game programming as a fellow at EGD Collective's Game Studio Program. I also study independently with David Kanaga, developer of Oikospiel Book I and composer of Proteus and Dyad.

I aim to make music that is experimental but approachable. My sound sources range from mechanical parts to field recordings to gagaku instruments to digital processing and modules hand-coded in C++ and Puredata.
